SUZHOU AMUSEMENT LAND FOREST WORLD OPENS FOR TRIAL

In late May, Suzhou Amusement Land Forest World opened for a trial period. The Forest World covers an area of approximately 397,900 sq. mt. The site’s building area is approximately 621,000 square metres.

The theme park is based on three forest elements – trees, animals, and habitat. There are six major zones in the theme park, each with different feature planting and rides and attractions. As well as a theme park, the amusement site is home to a themed hotel and a themed commercial area.

The project takes full advantages of the topographical conditions of the vicinity. Suzhou Amusement Land Forest World is expected to form a new landmark in ecological tourism industry in China and become one of the leading theme parks in the Yangtze River Delta region.

OCEAN FLOWER ISLAND IN CHINA TO OPEN AS SCHEDULED

Ocean Flower Island, the artificial archipelago off the north coast of Danzhou, Hainan, China, is to open as scheduled, despite setbacks caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

On April 13, Zhang Weidang, chairman of Evergrande Fairland Operation Group and of Ocean Flower Island Company, announced that although construction of the site had been affected by the COVID-19 virus, Ocean Flower Island will open this year, as scheduled.

Ocean Flower Island will feature more than 200 internationally renowned brands, including 12 Michelin-starred restaurants. The entertainment site will be home to state-of-the-art marine museums, fantasy dramas customised by world-famous directors, five-star resort hotels, duty-free shopping malls, theme parks centred on a fairy tale theme, marine interactive themes park, snow mountain themed water park, and much more.

Ocean Flower Island is expected to welcome 10 million visitors each year.

SICHUAN ZIGONG FANTAWILD DINOSAURS KINGDOM TO OPEN IN LATE 2020

The Fantawild Dinosaurs Kingdom in Zigong City, Sichuan Province, China, is on target to open by the end of 2020.

Construction is now completed for the seven indoor themed areas of the theme park. The supporting infrastructures such as office building, canteen, and staff dormitories, have also been completed and are now being used. The construction of 13 interactive experience attractions has begun. Each attraction covers 5,000 to 10,000 sq. mt.

The park is centred on the ‘dinosaur culture’ of Zigong and will explore fascinating stories of dinosaur excavations in the area to create immersive, themed stories. The park will be home to high-tech replicas of of different types of dinosaurs.

Zigong City Government teamed up with Shenzhen Fantawild Group to develop the theme park, which has a total investment of 3.1 billion yuan (US$0.44 billion).

The Fantawild Dinosaurs Kingdom is expected to attract an annual visitor number of around three million.

ZIBO CITY TO INVEST 2.25 BILLION YUAN TO DEVELOP A THEME PARK AND COMMERCIAL COMPLEX

The Wenchang Lake Investment Promotion Bureau of Zibo City, Shandong Province, China, has announced it is to invest in the development of a theme park and commercial complex. The investment is valued at 2.25 billion yuan (approx. US$0.32 billion).

The project will involve the development of the Zibo Wenchang Lake Tourism Resort, which will include a theme park and the Wenchang Lake commercial complex project.

The commercial complex project will cover an area of 60 acres and will feature a supermarket, shopping mall, gym, education and training centre, theatres and more.

Another 2 billion yuan will go towards the construction of a theme park, which will extend a 500-acre area. The theme park will be home to diverse attractions centred on local cultures and modern elements. As well as attractions, the theme park will be home to food outlets, hotels, shopping areas and entertainment.

CONSTRUCTION OF JINGZHOU FANTAWILD ‘ORIENTAL DAWN’ THEME PARK BEGINS

onstruction of the Jingzhou Fantawild ‘Oriental Dawn’ theme park is now underway. The park will be the second large-scale, high-tech cultural theme park in Jingzhou, Hubei, following the opening of Jingzhou Fangtawild Oriental Heritage on September 12, 2019.

The project is the second phase of the ‘Beautiful China Trilogy,’ developed by the Huaqiang Fangtawild Group.

The park is centred primarily on modern history since the Opium War, when China sought national independence and rejuvenation. Its name ‘Oriental Dawn’ is inspired by the famous poem of Maozedong – ‘Qingpingle  Huichang’, which explores the theme of national liberation and renaissance.

YUNYAN WANDA PLAZA OPENS

Yunyan Wanda Plaza, the second Wanda Plaza in Guiyang, China, has officially opened. The Plaza features a sports theme park, a starlight food court, a night-time bar, and a wealth of entertainment, shopping and leisure facilities.

Boasting unique Shanghai-style architecture, the Plaza is an architectural landmark in Guiyang. The square is located in the south of Xintian Avenue in the Yunyan District of Guiyang City. It comprises of an area of nearly 120,000 sq. mt. With shopping stores, entertainment and leisure attractions and brands such as the world’s leading Wanda Cinema, Bon Bon Animal Kingdom, the Plaza provides a one-stop shopping, leisure and entertainment experience for consumers.

The Plaza also features Guiyang’s largest indoor zoo, Wanda Baby King, the first large indoor children’s theme park and Super Player, a video game complex. Yunyan Wanda Plaza is also home to Guiyang’s first Museum of Sounds, as well as the Museum of Love and the Museum of Pictures.

MACALLINE DREAMLAND OCEAN PARK PROJECT ATTRACTS 2-BILLION-YUAN INVESTMENT

The Macalline Dreamland Ocean Park project has been agreed and has attracted a 2 billion investment. The ambitious new project aims to be a leading ocean theme park in China.

The Macalline Dreamland Ocean Park will integrate local culture and support business and tourism. The operator behind the park is Red Star Macalline Group, a China-based company which operates home decoration and furniture stores.

On June 29, 2019, the Red Star Macalline Group, signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement with Shenyang municipal government. The agreement states that Macalline will invest 30 billion yuan to help Shanghai develop cultural tourism, hotels, shopping centres, home furnishing and other areas of urban living.

FANTAWILD ORIENTAL LEGEND OPENS IN HANDAN, CHINA

Fantawild Oriental Legend, Fantawild Holdings Inc.’s first high-tech cultural theme park in the Hebei province, has opened in Handan.

The theme of the park is centred on a concept known as Chengyu, a form of expression that’s traditional in China and comprises mostly of four characters.

The park is home to 45 Chengya themed indoor attractions and more than 200 landscape designs. One key attraction of Fantawild Oriental Legend is the ‘Legend of Nüwa,’ which, using innovative technology, tells the story of Nüwa, the mother goddess of Chinese mythology.

Other leading attractions at the new Chinese theme park include the ‘River of Tales,’ ‘Bear’s Mission,’ ‘Merry Go Round’ and ‘On Top of the World.’

Set in a domed theatre with seating platforms that lift into the air, is ‘Bridge to Love,’ whilst ‘Lady Meng Jiang’ tells a moving story about Lady Meng Jiang. In what is one of the most widespread and famous legends about the Great Wall of China, Lady Meng Jiang is believed to have brought down the Great Wall with her tears.
