CHRISTMAS TOWN TO LIGHT UP BUSCH GARDENS WILLIAMSBURG

Busch Gardens Williamsburg’s popular Christmas Town celebration will return to the theme park for 38 festive days, commencing November 16.

In what is one of the largest Christmas light displays in North America, Christmas Town will see more than 10 million lights illuminate the 383-acre theme park.

As well as gazing at the festive light bonanza, guests will have the chance to ride the Christmas Town Express, the park’s Christmas-themed train.

Youngsters will be able to visit Santa’s workshop to deliver their Xmas wish lists. Guests can refresh themselves by dining on festive food and drink and enjoy a spot of festive shopping.

This year’s Christmas Town will feature a holiday music show, with musical performances from the much-loved Sesame Street characters. Photo opportunities will be there for the taking with everyone’s favourite reindeer, Rudolph.

New to the 2019 event will be a Christmas tree maze, where visitors can experience different festive cultures and traditions from around the world.

Jeff Thomas, Busch Gardens and Water Country USA’s interim park president, said: “Christmas Town is one of our favourite times of the year, when all of Busch Gardens transforms into a magical holiday landscape. With endless bright lights, magnificent shows and thrilling new rides, our park is the place to be this holiday season.”

Christmas Town will be running at Busch Gardens Williamsburg in Virginia from November 16, 2019 to January 5, 2020.

COUNT’S SPOOKTACULAR PROMISES FAMILY FUN AT BUSCH GARDENS WILLIAMSBURG

Spooky family fun is coming to Busch Gardens Williamsburg in the Count’s Spooktacular Halloween event.

Every Saturday and Sunday from October 5 – 27, 2019, children aged 9 and under can dress up in their favourite Halloween costume and enjoy exploring the park’s newly-themed hay maze as they encounter much-loved Sesame Street characters also adorning Halloween costumes.

Young visitors can participate in a Halloween dance party, enjoy some spooky entertainment at the Countdown to Halloween show, visit trick-or-treat stations and witness interactive performances carried out by the Count and his friends.

Other Halloween-themed fun at Count’s Spooktacular include a Monsters and Fairies event, where families can join Elmo and Cadabby for colouring, mask making, costume dancing and more.

More craft making and searching for ghosts in the hay maze can be enjoyed by little ones at the Super Grover event.

Bert and Ernie will host a Pirate Party, with plenty of dancing, colouring and searching for ghosts in the hay maze will take place.

Rosita will show off her fiesta Halloween costume in the Rosita’s Halloween Fiesta event, where youngsters will have fun searching for Mardi Gras in the hay maze.

Count’s Spooktacular takes place from 11am to 5pm at the weekends from October 5 – 27.

BUSCH GARDENS UNVEILS NEW, RECORD-BREAKING ROLLERCOASTER FOR 2020

Busch Gardens Williamsburg, Virginia, has unveiled details about a new, record-breaking, multi-launch rollercoaster that’s set to open at the 383-acre theme park in 2020.

Pantheon will feature four launches and will reach a maximum speed of 72.5mph, making it the United State’s fastest multi-launch coaster.

Combining the strength of five Roman gods, Pantheon propels guests in backward and forward launches. The ride also features two inversions and a 95-degree drop.

Larry Giles, senior director of design and engineering at Busch Gardens, commented on the park’s new rollercoaster.

“Pantheon is going to be non-stop action for riders.  We’ve designed it so that the experience is changing all the time and will keep riders wondering what’s next.

“Multiple launches, speed changes, a sharp drop and backwards acceleration are just a few of Pantheon’s one-of-a kind traits,” added Giles.

The Pantheon will be located in the Festa Italia Village area of Busch Gardens.

The arrival of Pantheon will be the fourth consecutive year Busch Gardens Williamsburg has introduced new attractions.

2019 saw the opening of the popular Finnegan’s Flyer, Virginia’s only ‘Screamin’ Swing.’

BUSCH GARDENS WILLIAMSBURG CELTIC FYRE RATED TOP THEME PARK SHOW

The popular Irish dance show known as the Celtic Fyre, performed at Busch Gardens Williamsburg, has, for a second time, been hailed as the number one theme park show in the United States.

The show, which features energetic Irish dances accompanied with electrifying music, was announced the winner of USA Today’s 10 Best Readers’ Choice Award 2019 in the ‘Best Amusement Park Entertainment’ category.

Busch Gardens Williamsburg, the 383-acre theme park located in James City County, Virginia, also made it into the top ten of the ‘Best Amusement Park’ category.

Featuring Irish choreography, singing, music, and storytelling, the Celtic Fyre show never fails to pull in the crowds. The show is performed daily during the summer and is held in the Abbey Stone Theatre.

Guests are made to feel like they are park of the Irish culture the show brings to life, as the storyteller invites the audience into his inn to witness authentic Irish entertainment.

Kevin Lembke, park president at Busch Gardens Williamsburg and Water Country USA, shared his excitement about winning the award for the second year.

“Winning this award for a second time is incredible. Celtic Fyre continues to be our most popular show and this award proves it.

“This talented cast and production crew deserve all the accolades for making this a must-see performance,” Lembke added.
