DREAMWORKS WATER PARK EXPECTED TO OPEN AT AMERICAN DREAM IN NEW JERSEY ON MARCH 19

March 19 is expected to be the day a new waterpark, along with some restaurants and retail stores, open at American Dream in the Meadowlands, New Jersey.

The waterpark will feature more than 40 water slides and 15 attractions, all themed after characters from DreamWorks, including Kung Fu, Shrek, Fu Panda and Madagascar.

Visitors will also be able to have fun in a lazy river and in a 1.5-acre wave pool, which will be the largest indoor wave pool in the world. The DreamWorks Water Park is also set to be the largest indoor waterpark in North America.

Sharing his excitement about the imminent opening of DreamWorks Water Park, Don Ghermezian, co-CEO of American Dream , said: “We can’t wait for guests to visit DreamWorks Animation Water Park and experience the completely unique, jaw-dropping and awe-inspiring destination that we have created.

“We also look forward to welcoming a new audience to the property with the introduction of retail, opening some of the largest flagship stores globally,” Ghermezian added.

BIG SNOW AMERICAN DREAM TO OPEN ON DECEMBER 5

Big SNOW, American Dream’s indoor ski park, is to open on December 5. The retailtainment attraction comprises of a 180,000 sq. ft. ski and snowboard centre.

The snow site features four acres of snow-covered slopes that provide around 1,000 feet of skiing length, including a 160 ft. vertical drop and more graduated slopes to cater for all ages and abilities of skiers and snowboarders.

Visitors to Big SNOW can participate in introductory lessons, snow plays, private coaching, children’s activities and programmes and more.

The first phase of American Dream’s ambitious new facilities opened on October 25, 2019 with the Nickelodeon Universe Theme Park and The Rink. The second phase was due to open on November 27 but was postponed.

Big SNOW is the third phase of the facilities with a fourth phase scheduled to open in March 2020 at the New Jersey SEA LIFE Aquarium.

Hugh Reynolds, vice president of marketing and sales for Big SNOW, commented: “We’re very excited to start sharing Big SNOW with our guests next week.

“There seems to be a lot of interest in what we’re doing, with guests reaching out daily asking about how and when they can buy tickets.

“Launching our ticket sales is a major milestone and brings us one step closer to welcoming guests to year-round winter starting on December 5.” Reynolds added.

AMERICAN DREAM MEADOWLANDS OPENS ITS HUGE NEW INDOOR AMUSEMENT PARK

On October 25, American Dream opened its doors to the first of its four-part opening series, Nickelodeon Universe.

The huge new amusement park is located at American Dream Meadowlands in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

The amusement park features two indoor rollercoasters, the TMNT Shellraiser and the Shredder.

Hailed as the world’s steepest rollercoaster with a staggering drop of 122 degrees, the TMNT Shellraiser is the largest of the two rollercoasters. It boasts seven inversions, a 62mph LSM launch, and a 141 ft. vertical lift.

Riders are held at the edge of the huge drop in a glass and steel pop-up, before they are plummeted down 12 storeys, bringing even more exhilaration to the Shellraiser.

The record-breaking Spinning Coaster known as the Shredder is interwoven between the Shellraiser, The Shredder takes riders on a journey through a forest of steel columns as they witness remarkable visuals.

Both indoor rollercoasters were designed and manufactured by Gerstlauer Amusement Rides, a German-based rollercoaster manufacturer.

Siegfried Gerstlauer, managing director of Gerstlauer Amusement Rides, commented: “Everyone at Gerstlauer Amusement Rides is thrilled about the opening of Nickelodeon Universe in American Dream.

Nickelodeon Universe is the first phase of American Dream’s four-part opening series.
