MOSCOW OPENS ITS DOORS TO DREAM ISLAND THEME PARK

Dream Island, the largest indoor theme park in Europe, has officially opened in Moscow. The huge indoor theme park is built on a 100-hectare site, comprising of an indoor zone area that extends for 300,000 sq. mt.

Within the theme park are a number of themed areas including Lost World of Dinosaurs, Hello Kitty, Smurfs Village, Snow Queen’s Castle, Hotel Transylvania and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

Dream Island is also home to over 15 cafés, food trucks and restaurants serving themed F&B. There are also 11 shops selling themed toys, souvenirs, jewellery, clothes, homeware and other items.

The theme park features a city promenade with buildings inspired from the architecture of Rome, London, Barcelona and Beverly Hills.

Amiran Mutsoev, chairman of the board of directors at Dream Island, described the launch of Dream Island as being one of the most “anticipated events” in Moscow. Commenting on the opening of the theme park, Mutsoev said: [Dream Island] will become the undisputed leader of the national entertainment industry due to its unique concept and high socio-economic significance.

“Our project will also become a significant driver for the development of the city’s infrastructure, one of the main leisure spaces for visitors of all ages, as well as a world-class tourist attraction,” Amiran Mutsoev added.

GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS NAMES WARNER BROS WORLD ABU DHABI WORLD’S LARGEST INDOOR THEME PARK

The Guinness World Records has named Warner Bros Abu Dhabi the largest indoor theme park in the world.

The huge indoor theme park extends an area of 1.65 million sq. ft. and features well-known Warner Bros’ franchise characters from the likes of DC Comics and Looney Tunes. The park comprises of six immersive lands – Gotham City, DC’s Metropolis, Bedrock, Cartoon Junction, Dynamite Gulch and Warner Bros Plaza.

World Abu Dhabi is located on Yas Island, Abu Dhabi, and is the world’s first Warner Bros- themed indoor theme park.

Don Strickler, general manager of Warner Bros World Abu Dhabi, spoke about the Guinness World Record honour: “We are incredibly excited to receive yet another accolade on behalf of our world-class theme park that has captured the hearts of countless guests since opening.

“The record title for the world’s largest indoor theme park is one that we are delighted to carry, as it only underscores the breadth of excitement and adventures that await guests at this truly one-of-a-kind attraction,” Strickler added.

Warner Bros World Abu Dhabi opened in July 2018. The indoor theme park is home to more than 28 innovative rides, interactive family attractions, and themed places to dine and shop for merchandise.
