HARRY POTTER BUSES PUT ON TO TAKE MEDICAL STAFF TO WORK

NHS staff have been provided with a novel mode of transport to rally them between hospitals – Harry Potter buses.

The buses have been made redundant since the Warner Bros. Studio Tour at Leavesden Studios was closed due to the outbreak of coronavirus. The coach company Golden Tours together with Warner Bros decided the buses could be put to good use taking vital NHS staff to work.

The Harry Potter buses are ferrying NHS staff between three hospitals ran by the West Herts Hospitals NHS Trust – St Albans City, Watford General and Hemel Hampstead hospitals. The buses run every hour and the service is free. Social distancing rules apply on the buses.

A spokesperson for Warner Bros Studios Leavesden, said the company was “delighted to play a part in supporting our local NHS in this time of need.”

Mikesh Palan, managing director of Golden Tours, commented: “The priorities of the nation have changed completely as people learn to enjoy days in and not days out. But for key workers, staying home is not an option and we’re delighted to be able to help by providing a safe a reliable way to get to work and back.”
