Extensive work is to be carried out at the Aquaventure Waterpark at Atlantis the Palm in Dubai over the next 18 months.

By expanding the site by as much as 30%, Atlantis the Palm will be the home of the biggest waterpark in the world.

The site is already 170,000 square metres in size, featuring numerous waterslides, river rides, a shark safari, a splasher’s kids play area, and various beaches for pools relaxation.

New slides and attractions are planned for the extended waterpark.

Tim Kelly, executive vice president and managing director of Atlantis Resorts and Residences, spoke of the park’s extension.

“We’re in the process of initiating our construction on extending the waterpark. By the end of Q3 2020, we will be growing our waterpark by 30 percent.

“We’re going to have the largest waterpark in the world. As part of that plan we will have a brand new tower, seven new rides, a kid’s area, and the world longest slide too,” Kelly added.

Tropical Islands Resort in Germany is currently the largest waterpark in the world.
