OPENING DELAYED FOR COVENTRY’S NEW WATERPARK

The opening of The Wave, a long-awaited new waterpark in Coventry, has been delayed. The park’s gym and spa facilities were due to open to the public on June 24 but the opening has been put back.

CV Life, the park’s operators, have said there will be a ‘short wait’ before the official opening date is to be confirmed, though gave no indication as to when the site will open.

Paul Breed, chief executive of CV Life, said that membership fees for The Wave or CV Life will not be taken until August 1.

“The opening of the Health and Fitness Suites and Mana Spa will be a hint as to how amazing the waterpark and the rest of The Wave is going to be, and for this reason we would like to wait a little longer to open to ensure the highest standards are met,” said Breed.

“The facilities must be finished to the highest quality and until we are satisfied we have that, we will not be opening.

“It will only be a short wait until we can release an official opening date which will definitely be worth the wait,” he added.

The Wave will feature nine flume slides. The new waterpark and fitness centre is located in Coventry’s city centre.
