SeaWorld San Antonio has revealed plans about the launch of its highly awaited Texas Stingray, poised to be the tallest, fastest and longest wooden roller coaster in the state of Texas.

Developed by Great Coasters International (GCI), the new attraction will reach a top speed of 55 mph and comprise of a 100-foot drop, 16 airtime hills, 3,379 feet of track, a sensory-bending hundred-foot tunnel and much more.

The record-breaking rollercoaster will be located close to the new Turtle Reef exhibit between Orca Stadium and the Rio Loco river rapids ride.

Scott Bacon, SeaWorld San Antonio’s vice president of general services, commented about the new ride:

“Texas Stingray marks a new wave of excitement for SeaWorld. We continue to provide new reasons to visit SeaWorld and offer exciting new adventures for our guests with a blend of thrilling rides, family attractions and incredible animal and educational experiences.”

With the arrival of Texas Stingray, SeaWorld San Antonio will now be home to five unique coaster experiences, including the Wave Breaker: The Rescue Coaster, Great White, Steel Eel and Super Grover’s Box Car Derby.

Texas Stingray is due to open in spring 2020.
